We now reward members who drive environmentally friendly vehicles by reducing their approved auto loan rate by up to .50% APR*. In addition to saving money with a lower rate, if you purchase a hybrid vehicle, it may also qualify for the new hybrid tax credit… saving you even more money. The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) scores all vehicles based on calculated greenhouse gas emissions and fuel economy. The most environmentally friendly vehicles receive SmartWay or SmartWay Elite designation. Your “green” rate discount will be based on your vehicle’s EPA designation at the time your loan is approved. You can view almost one hundred 2009 Year Model vehicles that fall within this category at: http://www.epa.gov/greenvehicles/. (Many older model vehicles are also eligible for the “green” discount.)
